What Cambridge says about Law entry for 2027: the A*AA offer, the LNAT and its deadlines, College offer levels and applicant numbers, from Cambridge's own course page.

On this page8 sections

Cambridge's course page for Law says all applicants are required to take the National Admissions Test for Law (LNAT) at an authorised assessment centre, and must register in advance. For entry in 2027 or deferred entry in 2028 the minimum offer is A*AA at A level, or 41-42 IB points with 776 at Higher Level. Cambridge does not ask for any specific subjects. For 2027 entry, Cambridge applicants had to sit the LNAT before or on 15 October 2026; that deadline has now passed.

Grades Cambridge asks for

Minimum offer level: A level A*AA; IB 41-42 points, with 776 at Higher Level. Cambridge says to check which other qualifications it accepts. Cambridge does not ask for any specific subjects to apply to Law.

The LNAT

All Law applicants must take the National Admissions Test for Law (LNAT) at an authorised assessment centre and register in advance. LNAT's own dates page says registration began on 1 August 2026 and testing began on 1 September 2026. For the 2027-entry cycle, Cambridge and Oxford applicants had to register and book between 1 August and 15 September 2026, and sit the test before or on 15 October 2026, the same date the UCAS form was due. Those deadlines have now passed. LNAT warns that a test sat before the 2026 summer holiday will not count for 2027 entry.

College offers and written work

Most Colleges usually set offers at the minimum offer level, though they may sometimes ask for higher grades or an A* in a particular subject. Cambridge names Churchill, Lucy Cavendish, Selwyn, Sidney Sussex and St John's as Colleges that set extra conditions for some or all offers, so check the College websites. Some Colleges will ask you to submit written work, and Pembroke requires 2 pieces.

What Law students have studied

Cambridge says most Law students who had studied A levels and started at Cambridge in 2018, 2019 or 2023 achieved at least A*A*A (67% of entrants), and most had usually studied at least one of: English (language or literature), History, Languages (ancient or modern), Economics, Law, Mathematics, Psychology or a science subject.

Applicant numbers

Cambridge's course page gives these figures for the 2025 cycle: 7 applications per place, and 232 accepted. The course is 3 years (BA Hons), UCAS code M100, and is offered at all Colleges.
